We Got Next is a sixteen-minute narrative film that explores the friendship between two teenage girl basketball players. When super-star Nikki decides to play for the rival high school during their senior year, her best friend Tasha struggles to understand her decision. As summer comes to a close, the girls are forced to redefine and reinvent their friendship.

This short film highlights issues rarely associated with teenage girls in movies-competition and ambition-and offers an alternative vision of young women of color on screen.
